Shaping your WorldNovember 1, 2016
There’s no Buying or selling of virtual goods on AvatarTrader.com, only trading. I’d like to shed some light as to why. AvatarTrader was built on the foundation of adding much needed color to the video game industry’s grey market. There are vehicles, items that enhance your avatar, avatars themselves, land, decks of cards, and many more creations that make up these huge virtual worlds. Sure, they were created by the games creators, but they were earned, built up and personalized by the gamers. These massively multiplayer online role-playing games would not be where they were today if it weren’t for the community of gamers behind them.
If you have earned something in a virtual world, then should it be your right to sell or buy it as well? I think so. This is the biggest argument with virtual goods. Who owns the virtual goods and what impact does RMT(Real money transfer) have on our Massively multiplayer online games? RMT are generally conceived as detrimental to game because it bestows an unfair advantage to players willing to invest capital over those who are not. (They can buy advances or higher level gear and items) It used to be frowned upon, but now it’s how most game companies make a profit. These transactions generally only come from 3-5% of the game’s population. We have all played a game or two where those annoying pop ups have offered something for sale. Spending money from real life can benefit those in their Virtual life, but doesn’t this take away from the actual game?
At AvatarTrader.com we help you evaluate what your virtual assets are worth and match you up with other gamers who would like to trade with you. Right now we’re showing how easy it is to trade your World of warcraft characters, but we will have many more games to come where you can trade between, enhancing your gaming experience even further. We are proud to help gamers enjoy their game and enjoy it longer.
